Interceptor Emptying

Interceptor purpose

Interceptors are used on sites where there is a danger of pollutants entering storm water drainage systems or open water courses. The build up of oil, silt, debris, and other miscellaneous contaminants within an interceptor increases the risk of flooding. There is also an increased risk of hydrocarbons contaminating the sewerage system or watercourse.

Interceptor Maintenance Schedules

To prevent overflow and contamination of drainage systems the interceptor needs to be maintained on a regular basis, 645 Services offer a Scheduled Service Programme for interceptor emptying and maintenance for your peace of mind.

The Environment Agency require that interceptors are inspected on a 6-monthly schedule and the results recorded (Pollution Prevention Guideline PPG3).
